 Politics and News

A friend of mine recently posted on his website about the upcoming elections and how as a society we have changed so much and really dont pay any attention to the world around us anymore. So for you I would like to post his message as well as my replies to his message. I think he makes an excellent point and his message should be passed along.
Enjoy!!

Protest! By Tweak

In these days of political turmoil and a senseless war, I asked myself a question... What happened to the protest days of the Vietnam War? Yeah, most of the country is against the needless death of thousands, but nobody can act out against it anymore? Have we become that damn lazy or what? So, in the first step of bringing back some balls to the American people, I have here three great protest songs from the sixties. Please check these songs out and if you feel the need for an end to the War in Iraq, please repost or direct people here. Thanx and pray for our soldiers!

Zor and Zam
The king of Zor, he called for war
And the king of Zam, he answered.
They fashioned their weapons one upon one
Ton upon ton, they called for war at the rise of the sun.

Out went the call to one and to all
That echoed and rolled like the thunder.
Trumpets and drums, roar upon roar
More upon more.
Rolling the call of "Come now to war."

Throughout the night they fashioned their might
With right on the side of the mighty.
They puzzled their minds plan upon plan
Man upon man
And at dying of dawn the great war began.

They met on the battlefield banner in hand.
They looked out across the vacant land.
And they counted the missing, one upon one,
None upon none.
The war it was over before it begun.

Two little kings playing a game.
They gave a war and nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.
[repeat and fade]

Here is my first reply to his message:

Here is food for thought josh. I totally agree with you and the protesting thing and there are so many things that i would protest ( i.e. the war, animal crulity, half the idiots that they let out of jail that are convicted murders or sex offenders) I believe there are a few reasons that people dont do the things that the used to.
1) We as a society have become so fast paced and "got to go right now" mentality based that they have made it impossiable for themselves to have time to do something like a protest.
2) They dont pay enough attention to the news, newspapers, or magazines to really give a damn.
3) They hear it and read it but are to lazy to spend time doing something about it.
4) Lazyness again. If there is no way to solve it via phone, or internet. They wont do it.
Just some food for thought. By the way the music rocks.

You know it is actaually really funny that you should post this rant. I was in line at the grocery store about 3 days ago and there was this woman behind me. She had to be in her 40's I would say. Well I had under 20 items and the line for 20 items or less was so long it wasnt even funny. Well it is sunday and I am in no hurry so I go to one of the lines where you can have a bazillion items. I dont care if I have to wait. There was one person in front of me with like 60 items. I mean thier cart was full. No biggy. From 4 isles over this woman starts screaming and cussing at the top of her lungs. She has 18 items and she wants to check out now. There are like 400 hundred people in this store and all possiable check outs are already open. You have to wait. This lady is going on and on and on. So this woman turns to me and says " oh my god why are people in such a hurry" I in return said. "Because we have become such a lazy face paced society that we wanted everything and we want it now." She looked at me and said you must have been raised by a hippy. I kind of laughed because she did have that free spirited still stuck in the 60's 70's look. I said well yeah kinda. She said that is the only way you would be like that is to be raised with someone who has not been mentally programed to go go go. She then started talking about how she was so feed up woth politics she wished she could burn her bra again and picket, but she would probably get arrested for littering, poluting, and obscene public behavior. Which mind you this woman 4 isles over was doing a great job of.
But there are people that still believe in the old ways. They are just few and far between.

 Funnies

As I was sitting in bed this morning reading Time Magazine as my son watched his ever beloved cartoons. I started to laugh almost uncontrolably. I guess I havent had a good laugh in a while. Humm..

Well as I was reading I came across a section called Punch Lines.
These where so cute and funny I couldnt pass up sharing them with everyone.

" The French have launched their own version of Google called Quaero. You just type in the subject your interested in and Quaero refuses to look it up for you."

" A new study has found that 3 million Irish men can trace thier ancestry back to just one man. In his defense, the man said he had been drinking." ( We Irish seem to have this drinking problem. Time for IAA- Irish Alcoholics Anonymous)

RX, DRUG PLAN: WARNING: May cause confusion, frustration, anxiety, anger, hypertension, stomach upset, and or uncontrollable weeping.

I also wanted to share with you something they call Rover to the Rescue. It is ordinary animals doing extraordinary things. Enjoy!

"Tommy the cat's elderly owner tried to teach him to speed dial 911. He didnt know if it had worked until a month later when he had a fall, the cat rang 911 for help."

" According to the London papers, Chris Taylor learned the name of his girlfriend's secret lover when his parrot chirpped " I love you Gary" He got rid of both the girlfriend and the bird" (I would have just gotten ride of the girlfriend but kept the bird. I hear they taste like chicken)

"Scientist at a small California clinic said last week that they had trained dogs to confirm a lung and brest cancer diagnosis by sniffing patiants breath samples. Skeptical but intrigued experts say it is not time to awap lab tests for labradors." ( I for one want to know how can they tell you have cancer by smelling your breath and who in thier right mind would want to do that on purpouse?)

"Fisherman in Indonesia reported that just before the 2004 tsunami hit a school of dolpgins pushed thier boat to deeper and safer water" (Did it ever occure to you that your boat was in thier way and they where only saving thier own asses?? )

Hope that you have all enjoyed and gotten a laugh or two out of this

 They're Just Underwear..

So now that I am feeling better I am getting back to doing the things that I did before I wasnt feeling so hot.. This morning i get up while the hubby is still sleeping.. and I look around.. He tried he really tried.. I kinda Chuckle to myself at what he attempted to do in housework.. I do have to say though he does wash clothes and will great skill I might add.. but what can I say other than he is married to a organized neat freak.. He works his tail off just to make me happy and so that we can do some of the things that we wanted to do.. I have to say with great love and devotion.. i watched him do laundry the other day and he is tossing clothes into the dryer and into the washer and when it came time for my undies.. he was very careful with them and put them on the delicate cycle.. only the best for his girl.. after they where done washing he put them in the dryer on a gentle drying cycle and then he carefully and gentally folded them....I just wanted to say "they're just underwear.. they wont break" it was the funniest yet most enduring thing to see because for a man who is very much a "man's man" seeing him do this with the upmost care just brought a smile to my face.. i think ill keep him..

Just remember " You love your husband"

So I havent been married that long.. well as long as some of my friends that i talk to on here.. I was over at my moms house the other day.. and yes i have been under a lot of stress with everything that is going on with my life.. and i have been getting upset at the littlest things.. well my husband has been pushing every button possiable on my radar... i just have to remember the vows that i have taken and that it will get batter.. hopefully.. but i look at my mom and mystep dad and i realize that it is not just my husband that pushes my buttons.. but every womans husband presses her buttons from time to time.. and like me im sure they have days that they do not like thier husbands.. i know i do.. it just seems that lately with me not been well like im used to the husband has gotten a lot more touchy feely.. ok now i am a sucker for some cuddling time as much as the next girl.. but when im on the computer, trying to clean, do dishes, laundry, change baby butt.... I DONT NEED TO BE LOVED ON.... but there is more good than bad and for that i thank my gardiuan angels.. cause hey it could be worse.. but for now i just grin and bear it.. and remember what my mom tells me when i come and vent to her.. "just remember you love your husband"
